GOATVERMIN "Detruire" black/death metal album review and bandcamp stream

The first quarter of 2017 sees the spectacular return of French black/death metal, thanks to the debut albums of three excellent bands: Ritualization, Necroblood and Goatvermin. The timing couldn’t be better as there exist strong rumors that Arkhon Infaustus, Read more

INFESTER “To the Depths, in Degradation” death metal re-release review and youtube stream

Re-releases of “best kept secret” type of old bands, usually package attractively mediocre quality content using 80’s/90’s nostalgia and vinyl fetishism. Even when the music is good, most such bands were mere clones back at the day, therefore their (re-) Read more

NECROBLOOD “Collapse of the Human Race” black/death metal album review and bandcamp stream

Parisian old-school metal band NECROBLOOD have penetrated violently my musical microcosm back in 2011. They have done so with the best credentials that an underground metal band could possibly have according to my book: a debut self-titled 7”EP released by Read more

Autoclav1.1 Werewolf Country CD Review

Posted on by Vassago in Electronic, Experimental, I.D.M, Music | Leave a comment

It is not a secret that this is one of my favorite bands, primarily because of it’s constant musical progression in each and every release, making Autoclav1.1 a distinctive reference into the IDM scene. With an album release almost every year, Werewolf Country (his 10th album, following up the very successful “ten.one.point.one” and in stores for quiet some time now), is published WTII a US label for lots of diverse bands such as E.S.A, Chant & Regenerator to name a few.

I was highlighting on my last review that “ten one point one” opened a new era for the band. There was a natural progression in composition and musical ideas from “Love no longer lives here” up until  “Embark on Departure“, however in his latest album we witness a progression in terms of both sound and noise selections as well as diversification in Tony’s musical taste.

I kind of expected that as a natural continuation of his anniversary album , but what I definitely didn’t see coming was “Earworm“: ,

Debut EP “X2A” by Aevin released on 16th of February

Posted on by Vassago in I.D.M, Industrial, instrumental, Music | Leave a comment

The debut EP “X2A” by the Greek digital media artist Aevin released on 16th of February under the German label Raumklang Music Records (Dirk Geiger, Huron, Basementgrrr). The sound mastering was done Anatoly Tokee Grinberg of the Unguided Tactical Sounds Corp. The album’s concept is metamorphosis. The tracks work as a storytelling of one’s transformation from the past experiences to the present self.

Nostalgic piano motifs, and staccato beats punctuated by sonic interference reminisce over days gone by, while glitches throbbing in the cocoon of the skull clear away the cobwebs and the fog of sleep.

‘X2A’ transports the listener to powerful places of change—to the darkness and neon of the dancefloor temple and the secret room between the ears.

Aevins’ debut EP leaves the listener with the feeling that something of the old remains within the new, something tempered into the present, through the alchemy of the past. Brain-scrubbing beats, scanning across the auditory feld,  reawakening the senses.

The album features two exclusive remixes by Conjecture (Raumklang Music) and Totakeke (Tympanik Audio, HANDS label)

Legacy Future quickly documents 10 years of music created by Autoclav1.1 and give a listen to the new 10 year anniversary album titled “Ten.one.point.one” (set to be released in June the 24th) which proves that things only get better with age.

Autoclav1.1 ‘ten.one.point.one‘ Album Cover

Autoclav1.1 is the brainchild of Tony Young, an authentic IDM/Experimental enthusiast who made his very first steps in the scene through his contribution in various music outlets as well as the release of his own fanzine “Black Harvest”. For those who knew Tony, it was only a matter of time before he would step up more actively in the music scene and start releasing his own work, you wouldn’t expect anything less from a person who dedicates most of his time to music either as a writer or a DJ.

autoclav1.1-tenpointone

Autoclav1.1 announced on their facebook page today that their ten year anniversary album titled ‘ten.one.point.one.‘ will be released by WTII Records. Autoclav1.1 has gained a reputation for pulling on the deepest of human emotions with a variety of melody, frequently torn apart by paranoid beatwork and broken rhythmical structures. This Autoclav1.1 signature formula is ever present throughout Ten.one.point.one. From the dark soundscapes and haunting piano of “16a” to the break beats “Your Face Goes Here,” Autoclav1.1 continues to push new boundaries and proves things only get better with age.

ABS6 – Audiomedikation CD Review, Hymen Records

Posted on by Vassago in Electronic, I.D.M, Music | Leave a comment

An array of styles clash and ultimately combine on this release from IDM to electro and ambient structures melding drum and bass into twisted scattered concoctions that remind you of a time when we were bombarded with music from the Warp generation.abs6Many an artist can be cited when listening to ‘Audiomedikation’; ‘Aphex Twin’, ‘Venetian Snares’ and the like. This is done unashamedly and I believe this is the intention, and who are we to argue with the main influx of work from such artists being of a high visual presence if not always of the highest quality; it’s still respected work.
Complex and in some part quite vicious with the assault on the senses this does keep you intrigued for the most part with cut up electronics and frenetic beats that weave and turn on themselves almost at will giving the listener no quarter to absorb upon first listen what is going on in its entirety.
