GOATVERMIN "Detruire" black/death metal album review and bandcamp stream

The first quarter of 2017 sees the spectacular return of French black/death metal, thanks to the debut albums of three excellent bands: Ritualization, Necroblood and Goatvermin. The timing couldn’t be better as there exist strong rumors that Arkhon Infaustus, Read more

INFESTER “To the Depths, in Degradation” death metal re-release review and youtube stream

Re-releases of “best kept secret” type of old bands, usually package attractively mediocre quality content using 80’s/90’s nostalgia and vinyl fetishism. Even when the music is good, most such bands were mere clones back at the day, therefore their (re-) Read more

NECROBLOOD “Collapse of the Human Race” black/death metal album review and bandcamp stream

Parisian old-school metal band NECROBLOOD have penetrated violently my musical microcosm back in 2011. They have done so with the best credentials that an underground metal band could possibly have according to my book: a debut self-titled 7”EP released by Read more

Autoclav1.1 Werewolf Country CD Review

Posted on by Vassago in Electronic, Experimental, I.D.M, Music | Leave a comment

It is not a secret that this is one of my favorite bands, primarily because of it’s constant musical progression in each and every release, making Autoclav1.1 a distinctive reference into the IDM scene. With an album release almost every year, Werewolf Country (his 10th album, following up the very successful “ten.one.point.one” and in stores for quiet some time now), is published WTII a US label for lots of diverse bands such as E.S.A, Chant & Regenerator to name a few.

I was highlighting on my last review that “ten one point one” opened a new era for the band. There was a natural progression in composition and musical ideas from “Love no longer lives here” up until  “Embark on Departure“, however in his latest album we witness a progression in terms of both sound and noise selections as well as diversification in Tony’s musical taste.

I kind of expected that as a natural continuation of his anniversary album , but what I definitely didn’t see coming was “Earworm“: ,

“In this the signs shall be those of Set Triumphant and of Baphomet. Also shall Set appear in the circle. Let him drink of the sacrament and let him communicate the same.”

If I recall correctly, I grabbed my vinyl copy of “The Illuminated” during one of my Parisian record shopping sessions together with my brother Christos Agoros at Gibert Joseph. The only reason for this purchase was the superb occult artwork, as well as the liner notes and tracklisting in the back cover.

Bitcrush “Shipwrecked” on Bandcamp

Posted on by Vassago in Ambient, Music | Leave a comment

“Shipwrecked” is nearly an hour of lost, salvaged or otherwise forgotten bitcrush tracks. “Glacial” and “A Place of Exits” being the only two previously commercially released. “270 degrees” is only in its demo form as the original was lost in a hard-drive failure. A alternative version of “Song For Three” from “in Distance” and a ‘Collapse’ B side “The Decent” are never before released. All other tracks are remastered versions of tracks previously offered for free on the old bitcrush website. Pay what you wish… Even nothing i suppose.

REZNYCK EP The ‘MUSCLE CARdiac’

If you are looking for some new bands offering a mixture of powerful industrial and synth sounds, look no further. REZNYCK is pushing the limits of those genre hard with “Muscle CARdiac” his latest EP release available for a listen on Bandcamp.  5 tracks full of big dark riffs and distortions, raw techno, screaming synths, killer arpeggios and EBM beats, roughly 18mins of pure electronic mayhem.  All tracks are amazing by “Ebolada” is definitely my favorite one, make sure you turn your speakers loud before hitting play.

Reznyck has also worked on the soundtrack of Blood Irony “Shooting Stars” which is currently available for iOS and Android. You can check the game on the video below:

IDM/Electronic Music Playlist 2015

Posted on by Vassago in Music, Playlist | Leave a comment

The monthly podcast series began back in 2004 when I was running Enochian Apocalypse E-zine and was a collection of songs I really enjoyed listening at that time. I’ve decided to revive this here in Legacy Future and post on a monthly basis at least an hour of music I enjoy listening these days. It will mainly come from the IDM/electronic scene, wether it is a new or an old song.

Spotify Playlist for September

The playlist posts will include a spotify list and information about some of the bands/songs I selected as well as additional clips and videos. My intention is to update this list monthly, ideally around the 15th of each month. For September I decided to include 10 songs (49mins length) from Autoclav1.1, Carpenter Brut, Detritus, Perturbator, Blanck Mass, The Night Terrors, Stendeck, Byetone & Amon Tobin.

UPDATE: I originally planned to do this every month but due to limited time I wasn’t able to update the list montly, thus I rename this to a “2015” list instead of “September 2015” playlist and will do my best to update frequently this year.

PERTURBATOR New Album “The Uncanny Valley”

Posted on by Vassago in Electronic, Music, Synthwave | Leave a comment

Perturbator album 4 is titled “The Uncanny Valley”. The uncanny valley is a phenomenon in robotics engineering whereby a humanoid robot bearing a near-identical [but not perfect] resemblance to a human causes a response of revulsion among the observer. The “valley” refers to a dip in the graph of comfort level as humanoid subjects move toward a healthy, natural human likeness. The album is fully recorded, mixed, mastered, and finished. Artwork is currently underway, and the band expects a release date around late 2015 / early 2016.

So far Perturbator released a small teaser on YouTube for one of their new songs titles “Assault”.

Until the new release hit the stores, you can listen to their latest album “Dangerous Days”.

E.S.A Themes of Carnal Empowerment Pt.3: Penance

ESA’s (Electronic Substance Abuse) sound is always a hard one to pin down. Taking influences initially from rhythmical noise acts, the overall structures have developed and integrated countless influences from the broad spectrum of alternative and extreme music. The tone of ESA is harsh and oppressive, dripping with destructive and corroded grooves whilst still emanating sub conscious melodies and a strong sense of Spirituality. ESA’s compositions are undoubtedly threatening and offensive floor stomping club tunes but also twist and churn enough to warrant more attentive listening.

With the much revered ‘Themes 1 & 2’ releases causing such a stir within the noise and harsh industrial scene, ESA’s creator, Jamie Blacker, is ready to unleash the closing album to this destructive trilogy; Themes of Carnal Empowerment Pt.3 : Penance. From the anthemic rhythms of “2nd Movement” to the tribal chants of “Juju Yako,” Blacker calls this ESA’s most complete work to date.

Here is a video preview of their latest work:

Grave Pleasures (x-Beastmilk) to release debut album “Dreamcrash” on September 4th via Sony

Posted on by Vassago in Dark Wave, Music | Leave a comment

grave pleasures - beastmilkLast year I was closing Beastmilk’s debut album “Climax” review with the following words: “All in all this album is a fantastic release and definitely one of the best listens I’ve had this year. “Climax” gives me hope that there is still life in a scene that many pundits rushed to claim “dead”. Want to name it “Album of the year”? “Best newcomer on the scene”? Best debut in 2013”? Whatever you choose to me it doesnt really matter. This is something to monitor closely and the future can only be bright for them.”

Consequently, news that BEASTMILK guitarist, Johan “Goatspeed” Snell, has decided to parted ways with band,  came as a shock since its been years for a newcomer to receive so many promising and raving reviews across the board. Thankfully most of its members, as well as SONY Comulbia who signed the band with a new contract, decided to sign under a new name “Grave Pleasure” with their debut album “Dreamcrash” set to be released next month.

We will be writting in detail once we hear the new album but until then, here is a teaser of one of the new songs “New Hip Moon”.
